Taman Tugu

Overview

Taman Tugu is a 66-acre urban forest park developed on former army land near the National Monument. A network of nature trails winds through secondary and restored tropical forest, creating a green corridor connecting the Lake Gardens to Bukit Kiara.

Highlights

• Trail system: 3 km of boardwalk and gravel trails with interpretive signs about native flora.
• Tree planting: 4,000 trees of 100 native species planted as part of a reforestation initiative.
• Birdwatching: Woodpeckers, barbets, and kingfishers are regularly spotted along the streambed.

History

Developed by the Tugu Taman Warisan Foundation (led by Khazanah Nasional), the park was opened in phases from 2019 on land previously occupied by military quarters.

Visitor Tips

• Flat paths: Suitable for families and strollers.
• Free entry: Open daily 07:00–19:00.
• Duration: 1–1.5 hours.
