Overview

Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman is a traditional Malay wooden house relocated from Kedah to the grounds of the Heritage Centre of Malaysia (Badan Warisan Malaysia) in central KL. Guided tours explain Malay domestic architecture, social customs, and craft traditions.

History

Built in the 1920s in Kedah, the house belonged to Penghulu (village headman) Abu Seman. It was disassembled, transported to KL, and painstakingly reconstructed by Badan Warisan Malaysia in 1996.

Visitor Tips

• Book ahead: Tours run Monday–Friday at 11:00 and 15:00; reservation recommended.
• Small fee: RM10 donation for the tour.
• Duration: 30–45 minutes.
