Overview
ILHAM is a public art gallery on the ground and mezzanine floors of the ILHAM Tower in KL's financial district. Focused on modern and contemporary art from Southeast Asia and beyond, it stages thoughtful, research-driven exhibitions.
Highlights
- Exhibition programme: 3–4 major exhibitions per year, often featuring regional artists rarely shown in Malaysia.
- ILHAM Lab: A reading room and archive of art books and exhibition catalogues.
- Architecture: The gallery's soaring atrium and floor-to-ceiling windows provide a dramatic viewing environment.
History
Founded in 2015 by the ILHAM Foundation, the gallery fills a gap in KL's cultural landscape by supporting non-commercial, research-based curatorial practice.
