Ben Youssef Madrasa is a 14th-century Islamic college and one of North Africa's largest theological schools. Its courtyard features the finest zellij tilework, carved cedar, and calligraphic stucco in Morocco.
Founded in the 14th century by Marinid Sultan Abu al-Hasan, rebuilt by the Saadians, it functioned as a Koranic school until 1960.
