Bahia Palace is a sprawling 19th-century masterpiece built between 1866 and 1900 for Grand Vizier Si Moussa and his son Ba Ahmed. Its name means "brilliance," with painted cedar ceilings, zellij tilework, and carved stucco.
Grand Vizier Ba Ahmed built the palace over 14 years using the finest artisans from Fez. Upon his death in 1900, the palace was looted by rivals. The French Protectorate later used it as headquarters.
