Overview
The observation deck atop Hallgrímskirkja's 74.5-metre tower offers the best 360° panorama of Reykjavík, with views stretching from the old harbour and Esja mountain to the colourful tin rooftops of the city below.

History
The tower was the last major element of Hallgrímskirkja to be completed, finished in 1974. Originally serving as a bell tower, the observation deck was opened to the public and has since become one of the city's most visited viewpoints.
