The National Gallery Singapore houses the world's largest collection of Southeast Asian art, displayed in two magnificently restored colonial buildings — the former City Hall and Supreme Court — connected by a dramatic glass canopy.
Opened in 2015 after a decade-long $532 million restoration, the gallery occupies two buildings central to Singapore's history. City Hall is where Japan's 1945 surrender was accepted and where independence was declared in 1965.
