Storkyrkan (Great Church) is Stockholm's cathedral, a 13th-century church in Gamla Stan. Its most famous treasure is the 1489 sculpture of St. George and the Dragon—a masterwork of late-medieval art symbolising Sweden's fight for independence.
Founded in 1279, the cathedral was rebuilt in Baroque style in the 18th century. Royal weddings and coronations were held here until 2010.
