The Swedish Royal Palace in Gamla Stan is one of Europe's largest palaces with 608 rooms. Still the official residence of the King, it's open for visits to the Royal Apartments, Treasury, and the Tre Kronor Museum.
Built 1697–1754 by Nicodemus Tessin the Younger after fire destroyed the medieval Tre Kronor castle. It's the largest palace in Europe still used as a royal residence.
