The Palace of Culture and Science is Warsaw's tallest building (237 m) and most controversial landmark—a 'gift from the Soviet people' completed in 1955. Love it or hate it, its viewing terrace offers the city's best panorama.
Built 1952–1955 by 3,500 Soviet workers in Socialist Classicist style. Poles joke it has the best view in Warsaw because 'you can't see the Palace from up there.'
