Tennoji Park is a sprawling central Osaka park combining the Keitakuen Japanese garden, Tennoji Zoo, the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, and lush green spaces near the spiritual grounds of Shitennoji Temple.
The park was established in 1909, built around the Keitakuen garden which was donated by a local businessman. The zoo opened in 1915 and has been continuously popular since.
