Overview
The Promenade du Paillon is a 12-hectare urban park running from the National Theatre to Place Masséna, replacing a bus station with fountains, play areas, and a reflecting pool—Nice's green lung.
Highlights
- Miroir d'Eau: A flat reflecting pool that intermittently shoots up 128 water jets—children love it.
- Landscaping: Mediterranean and subtropical plantings.
- Evening illumination: The fountains are lit with colour after dark.
History
Opened in 2013 on the filled-in course of the Paillon river, the park transformed a neglected area into Nice's favourite public space.
