L'Oceanogràfic

Overview

L'Oceanogràfic is Europe's largest aquarium, part of the City of Arts and Sciences complex. Over 45,000 marine creatures across 500 species inhabit habitats from the Arctic to the tropics, housed under Félix Candela's hyperbolic paraboloid shells.

• Underwater tunnel: Walk through a 70-metre glass tunnel with sharks overhead.
• Dolphin show: Daily performances in a 24-million-litre pool.

History

Opened in 2003 as the final phase of the City of Arts and Sciences. Designed by Félix Candela (building shells) and Alberto Domingo (interior habitats).
