Overview

The Pera Museum is a private art museum in a beautifully restored 19th-century hotel on Istiklal Avenue, known for its collection of Orientalist paintings, Anatolian weights, and Kütahya tiles.

History

Opened in 2005 by the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation in the former Hotel Bristol. The building was built in 1893 as one of the grand European-style hotels along the Grande Rue de Péra.
