Overview
Teatro La Fenice (Theatre of the Phoenix) is one of the most famous opera houses in the world, a jeweled gem-box of red velvet, gold leaf, and crystal. True to its name, it has risen from fire three times.
Highlights

History
Opened in 1792, La Fenice hosted premiers by Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, and Verdi. Destroyed by fire in 1836 and rebuilt, it burned again in 1996 by arson. The painstaking reconstruction was completed in 2003.
