The Bimhuis is Amsterdam's premier jazz and improvised music venue, located in a striking glass box cantilevered over the IJ waterway next to the Muziekgebouw.

History

Founded in 1974 in the Oude Schans area, it moved to its current purpose-built venue in 2005. The building was designed by 3XN architects as part of the Muziekgebouw complex.
