The Anne Frank House is the preserved canal house where Anne Frank and her family hid from Nazi persecution for over two years during World War II. The museum is dedicated to Anne's diary and the history of the Holocaust.
Anne Frank wrote her diary here from 1942 to 1944 before the family was discovered and deported. Otto Frank, the sole survivor, published the diary in 1947. The house became a museum in 1960.
