Overview
Badeschiff is a floating swimming pool on the Spree in Treptow — a cargo barge converted into a 32 m pool moored at Arena Berlin. A uniquely Berlin summer experience with DJs, loungers, and river views.
Highlights
- The pool: A converted river barge filled with heated, filtered water — swim in the Spree without the Spree.
- Beach bar: Artificial sand beach with loungers, cocktails, and a sunset view.
- Winter sauna: In colder months, the installation converts to floating saunas and warm-water pools.
History
Created by artist Susanne Lorenz in 2004 as a public art project, Badeschiff became so popular it was made permanent, operating seasonally under the Arena Berlin umbrella.
Visitor Tips
- Summer only: Pool season runs approximately May–September.
