Overview

Visitors can enter the actual hemicycle (debating chamber) of the European Parliament when the house is not in session. Free guided tours explain how European laws are debated and passed.

History

The Brussels hemicycle was inaugurated in 1993 as the Parliament's principal working seat. Plenary sessions technically take place in Strasbourg, but most committee work and some plenaries occur in Brussels.
