Comic Strip Route

Overview

The Comic Strip Route (Parcours BD) is a walking trail linking over 50 wall murals painted on building facades across central Brussels, each depicting a famous Belgian comic-strip character — from Tintin and Lucky Luke to lesser-known indie creations.

Highlights

• Tintin Mural: A huge wall painting on Rue de l'Étuve showing Tintin descending the stairs.
• Lucky Luke: A mural near Bourse depicting the cowboy who shoots faster than his shadow.
• New Murals: The route is constantly expanded with new commissions.

History

Launched in 1991 by the City of Brussels to honour Belgium's comic-strip heritage. Belgium has produced more comic artists per capita than any other country.

Visitor Tips

• Map: Free circuit map from the Visit Brussels office on the Grand-Place.
• Combine: Start at the Comic Strip Center and follow the route through the city.
• Duration: 1.5–2 hours.
