History
Originally built as La Peineta athletics stadium for Madrid's 2012 and 2016 Olympic bids. After both bids failed, Atlético de Madrid took over and completed a massive conversion for football use, opening in 2017. It hosted the 2019 Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham.
