Overview
teamLab Borderless is a massive, boundary-dissolving digital art museum where artworks flow out of rooms, merge into corridors, and react to visitors. The Azabudai Hills location opened in 2024 as the successor to the original Odaiba venue.
Highlights
- Borderless Concept: Artworks literally have no boundaries — projections flow across walls, floors, and ceilings, spilling from one room into another and interacting with each other.
- Light Sculptures: A stunning room of infinitely reflected light sculptures that shift color and form in response to human presence.
- Exploration: There is no set route; visitors wander freely through interconnected spaces, discovering hidden rooms and secret installations.
History
The original teamLab Borderless in Odaiba (2018–2022) became the world's most visited single-artist museum. This successor opened in Azabudai Hills in early 2024 with entirely new and reimagined works.
Visitor Tips
- Time: Allow more time than you think — there are dozens of hidden rooms and many works evolve over 30–60 minute cycles.
- Photography: Dark rooms with bright projections challenge phone cameras. Turn off your flash.
- Duration: 2–3 hours.
