Lotus Pond is a 42-hectare artificial lake in Kaohsiung's Zuoying district, ringed by over 20 temples, pavilions, and monuments. Created in the early Qing dynasty to irrigate surrounding farmland, it is now a peaceful city park and one of southern Taiwan's most photogenic sites.

Shoushan National Nature Park is a 1,122-hectare protected forest covering the coastal mountain range directly west of central Kaohsiung. Laced with hiking trails through tropical vegetation, it is home to a large population of Formosan macaques and offers sweeping harbour views from its ridgeline.

Central Park is an urban green space in Kaohsiung's Qianjin district, bisected by the Red Line MRT whose underground station was designed by British architect Richard Rogers. The park provides a welcome patch of shade and open lawn amid the dense commercial centre.

Qijin Wind Turbine Park sits on the southern tip of Cijin Island, where colourful mosaic benches, sculptures, and wind turbines create a laid-back seaside art park. Facing due west, it's a favourite local spot for sunset watching.
