Beaches in Lima

Playa Barranco is a rocky beach below the Barranco cliffs, reached by steep staircases from the malecón above. Popular with surfers and locals seeking a dip in the Pacific.

Punta Hermosa is Lima's premier surf destination, about 40 km south of central Lima. It hosts the annual World Surf League event and has a laid-back beach-town atmosphere.

Playa Agua Dulce is Lima's largest and most popular urban beach, a wide sandy stretch in the Chorrillos district that fills with families and locals on sunny days. Named for the fresh water that once flowed from the cliffs above, it provides a genuine local beach experience far from tourist circuits.
